Mercer Futures is passionate about the development of youth and adult soccer players. Our goal is to add to the growth of the individual as an athlete and a person through our camps, clinics, and training sessions.

Our Team

Chelsea Pitonyak

Chelsea has been a coach at Steinert High School for the past 8 years. She has had the opportunity to work with the junior varsity team as well as with the varsity team that she has now been a part of for four years. Outside of Steinert, Chelsea has trained multiple teams for the Hibernian Club and ran numerous individual sessions. She is also responsible for hosting the first Mercer County Futures camp in 2018. Chelsea began her coaching career at Bob Smith Soccer Academy working with youth soccer players.

As a player, Chelsea was a member of the women's soccer team at Rowan University in 2013 and 2014. During her time at Rowan, her team posted an impressive 29-10-1 record, two trips to the NJAC conference tournament and one trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Chelsea was an attacking force adding goals and assists each season to a very successful Rowan program.

Melissa Franks

Melissa has been the women's soccer coach at Widener University since July of 2021. She is also a staff coach at Next Level Soccer Academy. Melissa has been coaching at the college level for eight years and at the youth level for twelve years. She has run multiple youth camps and ID clinics for kids looking to pursue soccer in college. She also has been a team trainer for multiple teams and has run individual sessions with kids ages 5-18.

As a player, Melissa was an All-American at Montclair State University, midfielder of the year in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, and a two time first team all-conference player in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
